Freezing Pesto

Freezing pesto is super easy and will save time and money later!

If you grow your own basil and make large amounts of pesto at one time, freezing pesto will allow you to enjoy this flavorful sauce even in the winter months.

One of the easiest ways to freeze pesto is to use ice cube trays.

The Fresh Baby ice cube trays are actually made for freezing homemade baby food.  They worked perfectly for freezing pesto, though!

This is the pesto after freezing.

The pesto was very easy to get out of the ice cube tray.

After freezing the pesto, you can transfer it to a freezer bag and write the date on it.  Pull it out and thaw for a quick and easy meal by adding to pasta or to make a pesto pizza!
